The goal of the meeting is to have interactive sessions:
- Discussing recent evolutions of multimedia techniques.
- Discussing operational issues of the community.
- Discussing upcoming activities.

| The presentation will highlight the multimedia R&D activities at the Expertise centre for Digital Media (Hasselt University). The first part of the presentation will give an overview on the computer graphics related research, with an emphasis on the video-based representation & animation work. The second topic covers the activities in the domain of 3D networked virtual environments. The last part of the presentation focuses on some parts of the human-computer interaction related research work at EDM. | |

| This lecture will focus on the challenges around multimedia in the car. The presenter will explain the automotive market, how it differs from the home and mobile markets, and how the car industry wants to give the driver in the car the same experience as at home or on the move. Finally, a number of topics for further research around multimedia in the car will be presented. | |

| We will discuss the current status of the streaming landscape from a global towards a local perspective. During the presentation we will talk about the pro's and the con's of streaming from both a commercial and technological point of view. We will talk about standardization and we will also address the public with a number of streaming examples like European Parliament, European Council, VRT, Skynet, Proximus, ADSL.be... . In conclusion we will discuss the the current and future constraints and opportunities for the streaming market. | |
