Video communication technology is used to bring recorded video and audio to the student's desktop or handheld devices. At the same time we are evaluating similar technologies to bring moving images and sound to the lecture theater and to bring the lecture from the auditorium to the individual student's learning environment. While we try to use industry standard solutions like MPEG-4 (h.264) and (HD) videoconferencing we also experiment with video podcasting and (Adobe Connect) web conferencing solutions. In the session we'll explain the specific network setup and infrastructure at K.U.Leuven for these facilities and services. | |
